Dress code for Restaurants at Hyatt Ziva Cancun

Just like every all-inclusive resort, Hyatt Ziva Cancun does have dress code requirements for different restaurants around the property.  While that may feel restrictive, just think about sitting down to a fine steak dinner, and having a wet, shirtless person amble up and sit down at the table next to yours… yuck!  These dress code requirements help maintain a luxurious atmosphere, and keep the fun, water, and sand where they belong – outside!!

Here are the different dress code designations at Hyatt Ziva Cancun, defined:

Dining Reservations at Hyatt Ziva Cancun

Restaurants at Hyatt Ziva Cancun do not require reservations. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis.

However, it is recommended that you make reservations for the following dining experiences upon arrival at the resort: Teppanyaki at The Moongate (because tables are limited), dinner at La Bastille (this adults only restaurant is in high demand), and the Chef’s Table. (You can book this exclusive, 6-course dining experience for up to just 12 guests for an additional cost.)

Note that you can only make dining reservations once you have arrived and physically checked in at the resort. Dining reservations cannot be made in advance for Hyatt Ziva Cancun.

Food Restrictions and Food Allergies at Hyatt Ziva Cancun

One thing I always ask my destination wedding couples about during our complimentary consultation calls is food allergies among their group. Not all resorts do an amazing job of handling allergies or food preferences and needs. Luckily, Hyatt Ziva Cancun does an amazing job of this, and always takes great care of their guests!

The resort offers gluten-free and vegetarian options, and additional assistance is available to accommodate any other food allergies or dietary restrictions.

Ironically, the steak house, Tradewinds, is known for having many vegan and vegetarian options that are absolutely delicious! And if you’re ever at a restaurant and need them to make something off-menu to accommodate your needs, they are usually very kind and willing to do so!

Just be sure to always let the wait staff or servers know about your specific needs at each restaurant each time you dine. Remember, there are probably a thousand guests on property at a time, and hundreds of staff members working various shifts. It’s always up to you to let them know your needs.

To help with this, I strongly encourage you to make cards with a list of your needs in both English and Spanish, so there is no confusion, and you can get what you need.

This adults-only restaurant offers upscale, French cuisine in a swanky, romantic atmosphere. The menu includes a variety of starters (salad, foie gras, hollandaise, and more), delicious soups, several main courses, and my personal favorite – French desserts!

There are also several “Premium Experience” menu items that you can choose from for an additional cost, such as scargots, lobster, wagyu, or tomahawk steak.

Finally the bar at La Bastille offers signature, French inspired cocktails. Some include the Notre Dame (Vermut Russo, sparkling wine, and brown sugar syrup), or the J’adore (vodka citrus, cassis liquor, and pineapple).

I love this Asian Fusion restaurant at Hyatt Ziva Cancun! It’s got Teppanyaki tables, served by amazing chefs, which you should probably make a reservation for if you love having Teppanyaki on vacation. They also offer dim sum, sushi, stir fry, and more!  There are options for a la carte dining or selections from the Teppanyaki grill menu.

The bar at The Moongate also offers a variety of signature cocktails, such as the Fresh Moongate (mezcal, cucumber, and rosemary syrup) to Lychee Midnight (vodka, lychee, ginger syrup, ,and pineapple).

This rustic Italian restaurant boasts a wood-fired pizza oven, an antipasti bar, and dozens of delicious, Italian favorites.  Their antipasti bar offers a selection of fresh olive oils, breads, meats, cheeses, and salads. It’s one of my favorite places to eat at Hyatt Ziva Cancun!

In addition to some breakfast staples like fruit, yogurt, and eggs, it also offers Italian options, such as a gratin croissant, caramel waffles, or salmon bagel.

For lunch, you can start with a caprese salad and bruschetta or squid, before diving into your choice of delicious pastas, scallops, a fish of the day, or wood-fired pizza.

Lorenzo’s dinner offers great starters in their soups such as spinach cream and Genovese pesto minestrone, beef or salmon carpaccio. Their pastas are divine, and their main courses will leave you satisfied – whether you choose veal, salmon, chicken, octopus, steak, or eggplant!

There are numerous vegetarian options to choose from, as well as a very sweet kids’ menu, to satisfy your youngest Italian fans!  You can also choose to upgrade to a “premium experience” for an additional cost.

And of course, the bar offers several tasty signature cocktails, from Piamonte to a Mona Lisa, and a wide variety of wine.

Chevy's has a real car in the restaurant at Hyatt Ziva Cancun!

Chevy’s

Hours: 11:00 am – 6:00 pm

Dress code: Dry casual – be sure to wear cover-ups, shirts, and shoes!

This American Diner has a Chevrolet right there in the middle of the restaurant, and offers a fun place to grab a burger and shake during your stay, making it a favorite among families at Hyatt Ziva.

Unsurprisingly, Chevy’s offers some American favorites, like a blooming onion, corn ribs, nachos, chili cheese fries, and more. Luckily they also offer some healthier options, like salads (pear, buffalo, and garden), along with their wide variety of burgers. Included in the standard menu are classic, Mexican, shrimp, bbq, smash, Korean, and buffalo burgers!

There are also many sandwiches – fish, philly steak, and po’boys. Plus you can get a variety of hot dogs (classic, Mexican, chilli, and double-cheese). And of course, they’ve got some wonderful vegetarian options as well, namely a variety of veggie burgers.

Littles love the kids’ menu here, where they offer mini burger, hot dogs, chicken fingers, and mac and cheese!

Finally, you can top it all off with one of their amazing desserts. Their ice cream, brownie, and whoopie pie ice cream cookie sandwich are great, but the fan favorite is the milkshake at Chevy’s!! They have classics, double-chocolate, and a Unicorn Milkshake!

Nearly every all-inclusive resort offers an international buffet, where you can find just about anything, and Hyatt Ziva Cancun is no exception. But the big difference here is that Hyatt Ziva Cancun is known for its fantastic food!! This is one of the best resort buffets in Mexico, and offers great selections all day!

This buffet is a fabulous option for those who don’t want to spend much time waiting for service in an a la carte restaurant, or just have a few minutes to grab a bite between wedding events at a destination wedding.

With many vegetarian and gluten free options, as well as buffet staples, I love this fantastic restaurant. Plus, you get your choice of views with both indoor and outdoor seating at this open, market-like buffet.

And then there are more traditional Mexican breakfast options, such as chilaquiles , enfrijolada, codzitos, and more!

Plus they’ve got breakfast classics like eggs many ways, pancakes, waffles, and french toast. Add some amazing coffee selections and juices, and you’ve got a fabulous, ocean front breakfast restaurant at Hyatt Ziva Cancun!

For dinner, Tradewinds offers a variety of cold and hot appetizers, salads, soups, and more! Then of course there’s a wide variety of ribs, steak, fish, burgers, chicken, and more options from the butcher.

They also offer some specialty dessert experiences, such as fresh cotton candy, made-to-order crepes, and chocolate fountains!

While this is obviously a family favorite, dessert knows no age bounds, and this is a super fun place for anyone to visit!
