Looking through the options for all-inclusive resorts for destination weddings, want to bring kids for your big day, and just can’t find THE ONE?

I’ll help you find the perfect resort!! In fact, finding all-inclusive resorts for destination weddings are my bread and butter. Lately it seems like nearly all of my couples are bringing kids to their weddings, so I am well-versed in family-friendly resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean. 

And I’ve got some hot takes to share.

All-Inclusive Resorts for Destination Weddings: But make them Family-Friendly

Let’s talk about family-friendly all-inclusive resorts for a minute. There are a LOT of them out there, and they’re definitely not all created equally. 

Some of them are kid-focused, and are really meant for family vacations. Think Nickelodeon resorts, Beaches resorts, and more. While this sounds like a blast, most of my destination wedding couples want the focus to be on them and their big day, just this once. 

On the other hand, you see resorts that have very little for kids to do. They feel like an adults-only resort because there’s just not many kid activities around. But every once in a while, you’ll see parents walk by, holding their kids hand.

Instead of either of these extreme ends of the spectrum, most of my couples tend to go for the “Goldilocks Window” of resorts. 

The ones that have kids clubs where kids can do age-appropriate activities, have adult supervision, and yummy, kid snacks! The resorts where there are kid pools and maybe a splash pad or water slide, but those things are tucked away, not smack-dab in the middle of the property. Maybe there are even some adults-only areas of the property where the grown-ups can enjoy a drink and experience a little bit of zen. 

Those middle ground resorts are much more popular with destination wedding couples, because it gives them the best of both worlds.

They have everything kids need to have a safe, fun vacation, and offer a grown-up experience that makes the trip and the destination wedding itself feel elegant and classy. 

Those are the types of resorts I’m sharing with you today.

But keep in mind: one person’s “dream resort” may be a total no-go for someone else. That’s why I talk a lot with my destination wedding couples about their preferences, budget, vibes, wedding vision, and more, to ensure that I’m match-making them with the perfect resort FOR THEM.

So take this list of all-inclusive resorts and their destination wedding possibilities as the inspiration it is meant to be, and with a grain of salt.

#10 Hard Rock Riviera Maya

If you love music, a good time, and all-inclusive food and drinks, the Hard Rock Riviera Maya may be the best all-inclusive resort for your destination wedding!

This resort isn’t the newest, but it is the most fun!! There’s always something going on around this big property!! Whether it’s live music and entertainment, to silent disco dance parties, music trivia in the pool, or something else, you simply cannot be bored at the Hard Rock!

If you’ve got a big group of wedding guests who doesn’t like to be bored, but loves to party, dance, sing, and enjoy music, and loves that all-inclusive food and drink package, you’ll hit the jackpot with this resort!

#9  Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is one of the best all-inclusive resorts for destination weddings for many reasons!!

First, this beautiful property sits on an incredible stretch of beach in the Dominican Republic, so if you’re a beach lover, want to spend your wedding week soaking in the rays, or want an on-the-beach wedding, you’re definitely in the right place!

But if you’re looking for a stunning wedding venue that’s not on the beach, they’ve got you covered there too, with gazebos and other beautiful spots to tie the knot!

Overall, this resort is beautiful, modern, and offers so much to adult guests as well as the kids who will attend your destination wedding!

#8  Dreams Natura

The internet is abuzz with talk of Dreams Natura, a fabulous all-inclusive resort for destination weddings, and I’ve got to tell you, I agree with the internet!

This resort is tucked away in nature (hence the name), but has a very pretty little stretch of beach, lovely grounds, some fabulous wedding venues, and fun for the whole family!!

I thoroughly enjoyed floating down the lazy river, which is below the zip line they’ve got right there at the resort! That was a great way to cool off after an afternoon at the beach and outside the adults-only pool! 

During my time at Dreams Natura, I got to meet with their fabulous wedding team, who puts on absolutely stunning events!! I saw several weddings on the rooftop terrace, one down at the beach, and got to attend some events in different parts of the resort, including a bonfire night on the beach! (think elevated campfire, with cushions, tables,  smores, a white chocolate fountain, and a delicious taco bar!) What a perfect night!

I can’t recommend Dreams Natura enough as a fabulous, family-friendly, all-inclusive resort for a destination wedding!

#7 Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres

Fun fact about this resort: My sister-in-law got married here a couple of years ago, and it’s the resort where I’ve sent the most destination wedding couples for their big day!

That’s right! I was lucky enough to attend my sister-in-law’s wedding at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres (MECM for those in the know!), which means I got to spend the day in the bridal suite, see the sights, and really take in what a real wedding looks like at this beautiful resort!

It’s now one of my favorite family-friendly, all-inclusive resorts for destination weddings – and it’s because of three things:

Affordability of all-inclusive resorts for destination weddings

While I don’t really work with “budget” resorts, I do work with MECM, and it’s even better!

This resort provides destination wedding couples with the best of both worlds! You get a beautiful resort with great food, a night club, an EXQUISITE stretch of beach, truly beautiful wedding venues, an amazing resort wedding team, and more. But you get all of those things for a much cheaper rate than you’d find at other all-inclusive resorts, and that is just wonderful!

The Beach & Location of Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres

One of the biggest perks of this resort is its location and beach. Majestic’s beach, Costa Mujeres, is a magnificent stretch of wide, white-sand beach that is just across the water from Isla Mujeres. 

Isla Mujeres being so close is fabulous for so many reasons!

It stops a lot of the seaweed or sargassum from entering Costa Mujeres with the tide – thanks, Isla Mujeres!

Similarly, it slows down a lot of the waves, so the water in Costa Mujeres is much more calm.

Plus, it’s an amazing destination in itself! Having that island so close means that there are endless possibilities of excursions, day trips, and water activities awaiting you and your destination wedding guests if you choose this all-inclusive resort for your destination wedding!

Destination Wedding Venues at Majestic Elegance

So you get it, the beach is great, the prices are great, but you may think that means you’ve got to compromise somewhere, and the wedding venues are probably… just okay? 

Nope! I’m here to tell you that the wedding venues at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres are beautiful, and some of my favorite in Mexico!

Their Sky Gazebo and Terrace are stunning. I love it so much, and it’s no surprise that this particular venue tends to sell out super quickly each year! Plus they’ve got several other beautiful and unique wedding venues to choose from. And if you want help figuring out the details, their fantastic wedding team will help you, no problem!

Adults Only Section of Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres

I almost forgot the best part!!

If you’ve got a mixed group of adults who want an adults-only experience, but you’re also going to have kids at your wedding, this is one of the very best options for you! The resort is family-friendly, but there are several areas that are for adults-only. And if you stick to those areas, you’ll have a very quiet, basically kid-free trip!

Two of the three accommodation buildings are for adults-only, and staying in those is exactly like staying at a true adults-only property, but having that third building be available for your sister or bff who is bringing their kids, is just the icing on the cake! 

One important thing to know about MECM is that unlike most resorts’ room block contracts, this particular resort requires a 4-night minimum stay for you and your guests. Sometimes that can be a bummer if you’ve got teachers or other folks with strict work schedules in your wedding party. (the one thing I don’t love about them!)

#6 SLS Playa Mujeres

SLS is one of the newer all-inclusive resorts for destination weddings, and it’s already among my favorites!

This family-friendly resort also has some adults-only areas for when you just want to get away. But there’s plenty for kids and families to do in this beautiful destination, such as a kids club, splash zone water playground, and even a teen lounge! Those are always a big hit for the kids who aren’t old enough to drink, but are too cool to hang out in a kid’s club 🙂 

Overall, SLS Playa Mujeres is a chic, upscale resort that offers modern design, lively energy, and a strong culinary program. It has 18 restaurants and bars, which gives everyone in your wedding group many options to choose from!

The beach has a cove-like location, which means the water is typically calm and swimmable, and the beautiful, powdery sand beach is a great place to hang out!

Stay tuned, I think this one is going to move up on my list! I’m just giving it a little time to find its sea legs, as it’s just opened this year.

#5 Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun

Next up in our list of top all-inclusive resorts for destination weddings is Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun, a really lovely resort with so much to offer!

I got to visit this resort recently, and had a fantastic time; I’m always surprised how much there is to see, eat, and do here! With 9 pools, 17 restaurants and bars, and a whole kid’s water slide, pool, and kids club, there’s a lot to experience!

The beach here is decent, and the resort is a lush, beautiful place to eat, drink, swim, walk, and relax!

This resort is definitely a budget-friendly option for destination wedding couples who will be traveling with kids, and don’t want their wedding guests’ stay to break the bank!

#4 Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres

Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres is actually my second most popular of the all-inclusive resorts for destination weddings! I think it has to do with three main things:

• It’s massive, and has a lot of space for a destination wedding party to spread out to eat, drink, party, rest, and relax
• Grand Palladium CM sits on the beautiful beach, Costa Mujeres. As I said before with #7, this beach is incredible, has little seaweed and calm water, and is just across from Isla Mujeres
• Everything about this resort prices out well! From rooms to wedding packages, nothing here should break the bank for you or your guests.

That’s right! This amazing resort is one of my most commonly booked all-inclusive resorts for destination weddings, and I think it has a lot to do with their wedding team! Veronica is their weddings manager, and a partner I truly enjoy working with! She will (and has!) bent over backward to help my couples. When I send destination weddings to her, I know they are going to have an excellent experience and a wonderful wedding day!

And truly, the resort’s prices as well as the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres’ wedding packages all price out quite well compared to other resorts in the region. My couples always love this, because it means they can splurge a bit on something ‘extra!’

#3 Dreams Macao

Dreams Macao is one of those magical all-inclusive resorts for destination weddings that just makes other wedding venues look lackluster. You know what I mean?

Every. Single. One. of the destination wedding venues at Dreams Macao is more stunning than the last!!!

I love the beach venues so much, until I see the garden venues, oh wait, but there’s a rooftop venue!! Every one of them is gorgeous!

And what’s even better? The Dreams Macao on-site resort wedding team (the folks who help actually execute the plan of your wedding day!) are amazing, too! So you’re sure to have an unforgettable wedding day if you pick this resort!

Oh, and the beach, rooms, food, pools, everything?  Yep, they’re all great, too! 

I love Dreams Macao as a top all-inclusive resort for destination weddings!!

#2 Hyatt Ziva Cancun

We’re almost to the very top of the list! And Hyatt Ziva Cancun is a nearly-perfect, all-inclusive resort for destination weddings, if you ask me!

This stunner of a resort is located at the top of “the 7” of the Cancun Hotel Zone. What does that mean?

It means that Hyatt Ziva Cancun is surrounded by water on three sides!!!

That means that it’s basically impossible to have a room without an amazing view!

That means there are all types of different beach / water options for you to choose from!

Want a quiet cove, great for kids to swim in? Got it! Want a big, wide stretch of beach on the Hotel Zone side of the property? Got it!

Want a small, more private stretch of beach? Got that too! And it’s right next to the dock that they have right on-site! Which means you don’t have to catch a cab to a dock to start your water-based excursions in Mexico. You just walk out to pier, onto the dock, and boom, meet your boat!

Destination Weddings at Hyatt Ziva Cancun

So you get it, this family-friendly, all-inclusive resort is great! But did you know that there is an adults-only building, where you can escape those pesky sounds of kids having fun, and enjoy a more romantic stay during your wedding? Yep, you can!

And the wedding team there who will help you pull off your wedding vision? They rock, too! I got to meet with them recently during a tour of the resort, and they showed me all of their incredible destination wedding venues on the property. Spoiler alert: I loved them all!

There are sky terraces, beach spots, gazebos, and even a special light house wedding venue there! Talk about  a unique destination wedding in Mexico!

Plus, there are all kinds of perks that might help convince your guests, or maybe your partner, that this is the resort for you. Check them out!

• Candy and sweets shop on-site – sweet!!
• Microbrewery on-site.. Yum!
• Virtual golf simulator on-site – a very common choice for the guys on wedding day!

Yes, as a woman who’s been in lots of weddings, I often spend some of my time in the ‘getting ready for the wedding’ hours wondering what the guys are doing. Turns out at Hyatt Ziva Cancun, the guys can be playing virtual golf and drinking beer in their own private groom’s lounge! How cool is that!?

#1 Hotel Xcaret Mexico

Okay, we’ve made it to the big one – my favorite all-inclusive resort for destination weddings is…. 🥁🥁🥁Hotel Xcaret Mexico!

This resort is beautiful and unique! It combines the best of Mexican and Mayan culture with natural beauty, unique architecture, the jungle, and the ocean! Even just walking around this beautiful property is an experience in itself; but there’s also so much to do here!

There are pools, activities, kids’ clubs and pools, and so many restaurant and bar options at Hotel Xcaret Mexico; and all of it is incredible! The Xcaret properties are some of the most luxurious in the world, and definitely are the most luxurious in Mexico!

So if you’re looking for a family-friendly, all-inclusive resort for your destination wedding, and you value luxury and authenticity, Xcaret is probably the resort for you!

Destination Weddings at Xcaret Mexico

Just like the resort, their are some very unique wedding venues at Hotel Xcaret Mexico, and each is more beautiful than the last! There’s a consecrated Catholic Chapel that is absolutely stunning! (must have a Catholic ceremony to use this venue)

I really love these next venues that are all near some body of water, and whose views are magnificent all on their own. These are the kinds of venues that really don’t need decor, unless you just want to add it. They’re already incredible! The beach venue, the cove venue, and the river venue are simply amazing!

Then there are even more unique venues – the Pyramids, the Cave, and the Patio decks – all of which are either in an amazing spot, or have an amazing thing behind them, creating an incredible view and backdrop for your wedding photos!

I simply love the weddings team at Xcaret, because the events they put together are so beautiful that they’re difficult to describe!!

Can you access Xcaret parks when staying at Hotel Xcaret Mexico?

Yep! Just like with Hotel Xcaret Arte, one of my favorite things about this resort (and the thing that helps justify the price to wedding guests!) is the fact that you get access to several Xcaret parks when you stay at an Xcaret property!

This means that, in addition to the resort itself, its food, drinks, and amenities, you get access to so much more with your all-inclusive stay! 

You’ll get access to ferries to Cozumel and Isla Mujeres, an included Catamaran trip, and transportation to and from the numerous parks you can visit, as an Xcaret guest!

If you’re bringing a group of destination wedding guests to a resort, and they’re an active bunch who appreciate adventures like snorkeling, paddling, zip lining, floating, and more, this is the all-inclusive resort for your destination wedding!

You and your guests will get a massive bang for your buck with all of the inclusions, adventures, and excursions!

Hopefully you can see why the luxurious and beautiful Hotel Xcaret Mexito is my absolute favorite all-inclusive resort for destination weddings with kids!
