I absolutely love that Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres sits on one of the most gorgeous beaches in Mexico, and is in one of the most exclusive areas – beautiful Costa Mujeres. It is a truly beautiful property that offers a luxury resort vibe for a budget-friendly price. From gorgeous rooms to swim-up options, to personal jacuzzis on your balcony, this resort gives you a fancy feeling experience without a fancy price tag.
For the right couples, this is one of my very favorite resorts that I suggest for destination weddings; it offers a sophisticated experience with a stunning backdrop, is family-friendly, but has adults-only areas, and is located just 20 minutes north of Cancun. For those looking for a beautiful but affordable, family-friendly, but with some adults-only areas, a gorgeous beach and kids amenities and a late-night bar, this resort will check all your boxes!
Fast facts about Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres:
- 45 minute drive from the Cancun airport
- 570 total rooms, split into 3 buildings:
- 2 adults-only buildings comprised of 383 suites
- 1 family-friendly building comprised of 187 suites
- 12 total pools, 7 of which are for Elegance Club Level Room guests only
- 9 restaurants
- 14 bars, 5 of which are for Elegance Club Level Room guests only, also includes 5 swim-up bars and 1 late-night bar
- Club Level here is named “Elegance Club” – room categories that begin with Elegance Club will come with additional amenities and privileges (more on this below!), including Butler Service
- Room service is available 24/7, but there’s a charge of $20 USD from 12 am – 6 am for guests in the Family Friendly section.
- Kids Club for kids 4-12 years old
- Teens club available for 13+ (a lot of adults enjoy this, too!)
- Bali beds, chairs, and hammocks all come at no cost (this is fairly rare for all-inclusive resorts in Mexico!)
- Affiliated with the Puerto Cancun Golf Course
- Pools are heated in winter
- There is no timeshare service 🎉
- Resort opened in 2019

Good to Know
- 4 night minimum stay for groups, not 3 nights like most other resorts
- Rooms with two beds have double beds (not queens)
- Some room categories exclusively come with King beds and do not have bedding options available
- Many rooms come with sofa beds. Cots are also available upon request (pending availability)
- There are NO single rooms available for 5 guests. There are no exceptions to this rule, even if the 5th guest is an infant. (trust me, I’ve tried!)
- Almost every single room category comes with a jacuzzi outside on the private balcony. The exceptions are rooms with plunge pools.
- Connecting rooms are available, but exclusively in the Junior Suite category, and must be confirmed well in advance
- Unfortunately, there is no dedicated coffee shop, unlike many other all-inclusive resorts
- There are very few ocean front room categories available, due to the layout of the resort, but the pool view is still excellent! (this is the view from my pool view room)
What is and isn’t included in your stay at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres?
Most all-inclusive resorts offer the same basic things: minibar, unlimited food and drinks, use of the facilities and amenities on-site. They tend to exclude spa services, motorized water sports, or anything not listed in their inclusions, and Majestic is just the same!
Some of the facilities that are included here are:
- Spacious gym, open 24/7, equipped with a variety of cardio and weight machines, as well as separate rooms for Pilates and spin classes
- Theatre for shows and entertainment both during the day and at night
- Bell boy service (included, but tips are encouraged!)
These additional opportunities are available as well, but they cost extra:
- Spectacular Spa, including hydrotherapy, massage / treatment center, a beauty parlor, humid area, and more! (This is where their beautiful bridal suite is found, too!) *picture
- Golf nearby at the Puerto Cancun Golf Course, designed by Tom Weiskofp. It has 18 holes, including 2 with ocean views!
- Boutiques, photo shop, minimarket, and pharmacy
- Health Center
Restaurants, Bars, and Dining Information for Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres
This resort has 9 excellent restaurants that offer a variety of international cuisine. There are also 9 bars for all guests (including the sports bar you see above). And finally, there are another 5 bars for Preferred Club guests.
Many of these dining options do have a dress code requirement that’s good to know when packing for your all-inclusive resort stay.

Room Categories at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres
At this lovely resort, there are three room buildings – two that are for adults only, and the third is family-friendly. The option to allow your destination wedding guests with kids* to be at the same resort (without having crying kids next door to your honeymoon suite!) is huge, and one of the main reasons I adore Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres.
The three room buildings contain a wide variety of room categories for you and your wedding guests to choose from. Some are pool view (like the video above), others offer partial ocean view, sky view, and ocean front options, as well as some gorgeous swim-up suites.
The different options also allow for different numbers of guests to stay in each room, and range from 2 – 4 maximum occupants. They do offer a limited few connecting suites for families of 5 or more, and those all fall in the Junior Suite category.
Theme Nights and Entertainment at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres
Most all-inclusive resorts in Mexico have at least one theme night per week – Mexican Fiesta night! This evening of fun often includes local musicians and entertainment, a large, outdoor buffet of authentic Mexican cuisine, and more!
Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres is no exception; their Mexican night is a blast, and the food is delicious! During my trip, there was a fabulous mariachi group as well as several other local entertainers, dancing, a humongous buffet, and it was one of my favorite Mexican nights I’ve attended!
There’s also a wide variety of entertainment throughout the day and the evening. If you look closely in the picture above, you can see a theatre / stage behind the fiesta, where there’s a variety of performances throughout the week!
How’s the beach at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres?
In short, the beach is fantastic!!
Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres reaps many benefits from being located right across the water from Isla Mujeres! Most importantly, the waves are typically calmer and there is typically much less sargassum here than in other areas of Cancun.
Plus, Isla Mujeres is an incredible spot for a day trip during your wedding week, a group excursion for your family, wedding party, or full wedding group, or you can use it like my sister-in-law did, and go to Isla Mujeres after your Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres wedding for your honeymoon!
The beach at Majestic is wide and long, and made up of powdery, white sand and calm water. Surrounded by palm trees and ocean waves (and several close-by beach bars), you’ll want for nothing on my favorite stretch of beach in Mexico!
Pools at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres
Yep, you read those Fast Facts correctly before, there are TWELVE pools at this beautiful property, meaning there’s a pool for everyone, there’s space to spread out, and even if you don’t have a coveted Ocean View room, a pool view room will still provide a gorgeous vista for your time out on your private patio or in your jacuzzi!
There are several pools that are for everyone, so again, you can spread out if you don’t want to be mixed up in the party crowd. There are some obvious party vibes at some of the pools, and more relaxed vibes at others.
Some pools are family-friendly (I truly didn’t notice that these existed during my time at Majestic until I saw a giant unicorn floaty in the family-friendly pool.. behind a tree, way across the property. This means that kid pool noise will NOT bother you at the adults only pools).
And other pools still are exclusively for the “Elegance Club” (club level) room guests. I didn’t see this personally, but I have heard that resort staff is fairly strict about letting in only Elegance Club guests, who are designated by different colors of room key bracelets.
In short, the pool game at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres is strong! And I have had no issues with towels or getting a pool chair – this is one of my favorite pool situations in all of the Mexican Caribbean!
Blossom Spa
The fabulous Blossom Spa at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres offers a serene escape from the world and a wide suite of luxurious services to choose from.
The Hydrotherapy Circuit offers an “invigorating sensory journey featuring eight unique shower experiences, from aromatic tropical infusions to icy mists.” While there, you’ll relax in the sauna and Turkish baths before soaking in their expansive jacuzzi with both cool and warm zones, and enjoy a mineral-rich saltwater bath.
The hydrotherapy circuit lasts around 1 hour.
The Massage Sanctuary is the second area of the Blossom Spa, where skilled massage therapists offer a multitude of massage techniques designed to relieve stress and restore balance.
The Cenote Massage is a special, personalized massage service that takes place in their (man-made) cenote, or a cavern-like atmosphere. Cenotes are found throughout Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, and were considered sacred by the ancient Mayans. While this one is man-made, it’s still beautiful and offers a fabulous experience. This is the best way to relieve your stressed muscles in a gorgeous and serene location.
Majestic’s Beauty Salon is a sophisticated space, dedicated to enhancing your natural glow with expert hair styling, manicures, pedicures, and facial treatments.
The Bridal Suite is also located within the Blossom Spa, and offers a space for the bride and her bridal party to get ready, have some of these services (hair and makeup services are the most popular, and I’ve had them done myself by this wonderful team!), have snacks, and prepare to walk down the aisle!
Bridal Suite
Majestic Elegance has a lovely bridal suite, located in the Blossom Spa, that lets brides get ready with their girls while being pampered!
It’s available for use from 9 am – 6 pm and includes hair styling and makeup services for the bride, 3 bottles of champagne, a selection of juices, water, sodas, coffee, or tea, and a selection of luxury appetizers.
Others getting ready in the room can also opt for hair and makeup services at an additional cost. (This should be scheduled in advance so the team can be prepared for your group’s needs)
Note that this has an additional fee and is not included in wedding packages. However, it can be packaged together with use of the groom’s lounge for a discounted rate.
Groom’s Lounge
Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres has something fairly unique that only a few other all-inclusive resorts have: a groom’s lounge!
The Churchill Groom’s Lounge is available for grooms and their guys to relax and get ready for the big day! It includes use of the room for 2 hours, clothing racks, bar with premium liquor selection, a selection of luxury appetizers, beer, and refreshments, large screen TV, a Play Station with NFL, NBA, FIFA, and other video games, and a bluetooth speaker.
Note that this has an additional fee and is not included in wedding packages. However, it can be packaged together with use of the bridal suite for a discounted rate.
Kids Clubs and Amenities
Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres does have both a kids club and a teens club! However, when compared to other resorts, these clubs aren’t huge. This is more of a hang-out spot than a ‘drop off for a full day of kids programming’ kind of option.
The kids club is for children ages 4-12 and offers some basic activities, arts and crafts, etc.
The teens club is bigger, and for ages 13+. (Though I saw more than a few adults playing the video games in here!)
Wedding Venues at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres
In addition to the gorgeous grounds, options for both adults only and family friendly areas, excellent food and service, and the stunning beach, I also love Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres for its wedding venues!
